Dinner in Luberon - La Bastide de Marie

Last Friday night I had the pleasure to dine at La Bastide de Marie (www.labastidedemarie.com/). Tucked away in the Luberon, in the very middle of its vineyard (you drink what you see...), The Bastide de Marie is a luxurious property with a homy feeling. The 16 bedrooms offers all commodities with a twisted "oldish provencal style". The Roulotte" (gipsy caravane) is a must... (Shame my pictures are crap...). The dinner was exquisite (loved that rack of lamb) and the atmosphere so nice. A perfect place for "amoureux"....

Idéalement située dans le Luberon, au milieu de leurs vignes (vous buvez ce que vous voyez...), La Bastide est LE lieu pour les amoureux. Les 16 chambres sont aménagées en style provençal traditionnel et la roulotte dans le jardin (Zut! mes photos sont ratées) est une expérience.... Le restaurant propose un diner excellent avec une atmosphère de rêve pour les amoureux...

Saint Remy de Provence - A green house in a hotel - Chateau de Roussan 4*

Tucked away just on the outside of Saint Remy stands the magic Chateau de Roussan, a XVI century mansion (home the brother of Nostradamus...). The typical "plane tree alley way" leads you to this retreat where nature is the master. The rooms and suite have been tastefully redecorated in 2010 where the hotel recovered its former glory (plafond à la française).  But what I like the best is the garden... I believe it's over 4 acres and it hosts a marvellous XIX C green house which has also been restored. Just wander in the grass, relax in a desk chair, talk with the statues..... Enjoy peace.

A la sortie de St Remy le Chateau de Roussan (au XVIème siècle la maison du frère de Nostradamus) a été magnifiquement restauré en 2010 et vous propose un voyage dans le temps. Certaines chambres vous offrent une vue sur des plafonds à la Française... Mais ce que je préfère : son merveilleux jardin ou vous pourrez vous relaxer sous les palmiers, disserter avec les statues et admirer la serre du XIXème siècle. Un lieu reposant avec une atmosphère unique à St Remy.

Art in Arles - Hotel Nord Pinus 4*

Located right on the "Place du Forum", next to the "Café la Nuit" (Van Gogh's favourite place???) and facing the busy terrasses of the café/restaurant of the square is the Hotel Nord Pinus. This family run property always appealed to me for its atmosphere and I allways felt like walking in a museum when visiting.
First, its facade with encrusted Roman Column, then the lobby & the restaurant art-deco(ish) and its massive staircase. Love some of the corridor as well... Its 24 rooms (from 175€) are all different. See Bellow, room 10 and its massive mirror and room 34 with its amazing view over the roofs of Arles.

Idéalement situé sur la Place du Forum en plein coeur d'Arles, L'Hotel Nord Pinus vous invite à un voyage dans le temps. La facade avec ses 2 colonnes romaines incrustées, son lobby et son restaurant "art-deco", son escalier monumental et ses chambres meublées d'antiquités ou d'art contemporain.

Art in Arles - Picasso

Last night was the opening night of a new and fabulous exhibition around Picasso and famous (arles born) designer Christian Lacroix.
The Musee Reattu (located in the historic centre of Arles), a former priory of the "Ordre de Malte" (15th C), is currently exhibiting 57 drawings, 2 paintings and some other works from Picasso together with quite a few of Christian Lacroix's pieces made for the theatre.

Hier soir ouverture officielle de la nouvelle exposition "Les Picasso d'Arles, invitation à Christian Lacroix". Le Musée Réattu (ancien prieuré de l'ordre de Malte) vous invite à découvrir 57 dessins, deux peintures et différentes autres œuvres de Picasso ainsi que de nombreux costumes de théâtre réalisés par Christian Lacroix.

Ouverture/Opening 4* Saint Remy de Provence

Just a few minutes' drive from the village centre in a lovely setting is to open this coming July a stunning 4 star hotel. Teh owner are completely renovating an old property, turning it into a 13 Deluxe room Hotel with a Gastro restaurant. Grounds also include a swimming pool and a tennis in a designed garden. A quelques minutes du centre ville s'ouvrira au mois de juillet un nouvel établissement hôtelier 4 étoiles. Les propriétaires ont rénové entièrement un ancien mas pour le convertir en hôtel de luxe avec 13 chambres et suites et un restaurant gastronomique. Les matériaux sont raffinés, et les lieux comprennent bien sur une piscine et un tennis.

Nouveaux hotels - 4 star Hotels Opening - Saint Remy de Provence

Ca bouge à Saint Remy de Provence avec 2 nouveaux hotels 4 étoiles en travaux.....
Un des établissements doit ouvrir ses portes courant juillet 2012 et le deuxième est prévu pour une ouverture en 2013.
Mes informateurs sont sur le scoop... Plus de détails je l'espère bientôt....
Comme pas possible d'avoir de photos, j'ai simplement décidé de partager la photo de la terrasse dans l'arbre d'un hotel pas comme les autres dans le luberon....

Things are moving in sought-after St Remy de Provence with 2 new four star hotels under construction. One of them is due to open this coming July when the other one should open early 2013.
Sent my investigators to do some research and hopefully should be posting more soon....
